Founded in 1982 due to the ringneck pheasant population decline
Pheasants Forever is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the
protection and enhancement of pheasants and other wildlife poplulations in North
America through habitat improvement, land management, public awareness and education.
Pheasants Forever's unique system of county chapters allows 100% of net funds
raised by chapters to remain at the chapter level for local habitat projects.
The Original PHIP Chapter has done over $750,000 in habitat
projects in the last eight years. They have more volunteer help for planting
than anyone in Colorado. They also are publishing a landowner directory for
their county and contemplating starting their own public hunting access program
to test this concept for Colorado.

$14,000
donated by her late husband Dennis. The 27-acre site which the memorial is
located on is
owned by the High Plains Land Conservatory and enrolled in the state's Walk-In
public hunting program. Photo taken by Mark Herwig.
